RE: Here's some of mine.

Well, I just happen to have a few more.

Sorry, I don't have any of the old Barracks, 578-579. I have one of the old ricketty thing that I use to live in, up on the corner. Nothing inside the SAR hanger either. Although I did hang out over there a lot in 63. With nothing else to do, we built a 2 seat, 4 wheel horse in the SAR machine shop.

All I've seen as of late is a rusted out old building that used to be the hanger. Is that where the motor pool is now. Looks like their using it as a warehouse.

As much as I'd like to see the Island once again I'm afraid that it would brake my heart. From 10 or 15 years ago when I was communicating with the MPC people till now, only seem's to have gotten worse. It don't seem that they do much to maintain anything. Maybe Obama sould throw a few billion out that way, to fix it up as a nice place once again.

Ya'll take care and stay well,

Joe

Great pictures Joe. Have you got any of Barracks 578 and 579? Those were the ones out by the runway. Also how about any inside shots of the SAR hanger by the harbor.

Thanks for any feed back,

This is me in 1963 in the re-defueler shop, PW Garage

Time out for a BBQ down at the "trees"

Inside the BU (builders) shop.

Chappel

They come and they go. It was always sad to see your friends leave.

Willy Victor

In-Flight, I guess they still have that board over at the hanger now. Wonder how many times it's been painted?

Looking down the pier toward the warehouse. Why did they tear that down? It was fairly new in the 60's

Nothing like a good old Hawaiian Luau. All the civilians would get together and throw a real party. Dancers and all.

What happened to it?
