  I wonder whatever happened to Howard Hughes Glomar Explorer, the big ship that snatched that sunken Soviet sub off Midway, I think it was the Long Beach shipyard they brought that into.

How many of you ever got to see 'Herman the German', the world's largest floating crane in action at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard?  Boy, was that thing huge!  Here are a couple of pictures that I came across.  It was even used to lift the other yard cranes.
